Big hearts and helping hands
at Mill Creek High
Members of the Mill Creek High School Technology Student Association volunteered with Gwinnett Habitat for Humanity to help build a house in Lawrenceville in November. The future engineers and architects spent the day driving nails, hanging Sheetrock, building steps, and applying siding to the house. "What I consistently observe from the parents of my students is that they serve as good role models. Parents who read at home, volunteer in the community, put their children first, and celebrate small successes have children who do the same thing. "
--Mandy Collins, 2008 Gwinnett Teacher of the Year |

Make plans to attend any of the scheduled meetings:
- Jan. 14, Collins Hill High Theater

Hosted by the Superintendent's Council of Community Advisors, all meetings will be held 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Click here for the meeting agenda and here for addresses for the host schools. |
Bond referendum set for Feb. 5 ballot When Georgia's voters mark their ballots in the Presidential Preference Primary on Feb. 5, Gwinnett voters also will consider a ballot measure to authorize the School Board to sell general obligation bonds to fund Phase II school construction. The proposed bonds would not require a tax increase. More than $85,000 has been donated this fall from community partners. Click here to learn more. |
