The Department of Student Accountability, Assessment and Advisement coordinates support services to students and schools focusing on academic interventions through Title IA and Early Intervention support, academic advisement, school counseling, Pre-k to kindergarten transition, and programs actively promoting safe and drug free schools. The department works with schools and system leadership to measure student progress on the Academic Knowledge and Skills through implementation of the local Gateway Assessment Program, state and federally mandated testing, Advanced Placement and college readiness assessments. Interim student progress on the AKS is measured by the Benchmark Assessment Program.
